RIGBY REACH FOR READING
TUTORS

Every day, in schools all across the country, Reach for Reading tutors are making a significant difference in the lives of the students they work with.  These tutors spend 30 minutes per day, five days a week, for ten weeks with their students and in the end they are both better for the experience.
Who are these tutors?

They are paraprofessionals who took jobs in their schools because they wanted to help.  They are staff personnel who have some time during the day that could be used directly helping students learn.  They are high school or college students who dream of one day standing in front of their own classrooms.  They are inner-city mothers employed by Americorps to help in their own neighborhoods.  They are former teachers hired by the school for a few hours a day.  They are committed volunteers who can read and who want to help children do the same.  In other words, Reach for Reading tutors are people who want to make a difference, and then are trained and supported by Reach for Reading School Support Consultants.

Check out the America Reads website to find federal work-study tutors for your elementary school, preschool, community center, family literacy or after-school program.
