Brand Positioning Statements
Over the past few months, marketing, sales and
editorial teams have been brainstorming how to define the market
position of each of our imprints at Harcourt Supplemental. We
have all agreed how important it is to keep the names that are
so respected and recognized throughout the industry. And although
we are part of one company, Harcourt Supplemental, it is imperative
for us to make sure those names stay in front of our customers.
I want to thanks to everyone for their great thinking
and collaboration that has brought us to this point. And now,
attached, are the agreed upon positioning statements that represent
each imprint. These statements are meant to inform publishing,
guide marketing strategy and advertising, and support our sales
force.
These are living documents which will be revisited
and revised as we develop our new programs and campaigns but should
serve as a basis from which we draw our "identity".

Rigby Is Reading
At Rigby, we are committed to a comprehensive approach
to literacy that provides access to reading for all children.
As our society becomes increasingly diverse, Rigby gives young
learners – including those learning English – the
tools they need to succeed. And we provide educators with the
strong support and proven professional development that delivers
results.
While sustaining the joy of discovery and the power
quality literature has to shape children's lives, Rigby’s
research-based materials also provide young learners with the
tools to decode words and engage with text in a meaningful way
-- so they become confident, proficient readers and writers.
That's why, for educators, parents, and students
everywhere, Rigby is Reading.
Steck-Vaughn: Exceed Expectations
In today's standards-driven educational environment,
we've developed clear
expectations for performance at every age level, from preschool
to adult.
But in an increasingly diverse society, bringing every learner
up to the
expected skill level is a challenging task.
At Steck-Vaughn, we specialize in creating engaging,
accessible materials for teachers and students that allow learners
of all ages and skill levels to achieve success. Whether it's
a beginning reader trying to learn phonics skills or an adult
preparing for the GED, Steck Vaughn delivers the tools learners
need to not only meet expectations, but exceed them.
