As a group of employees representing departments across
Rigby, members of the President's Club want to express the
sadness felt by everyone at Rigby because so many dedicated
colleagues and friends have had their positions eliminated.
Several are members of this Club.
This is the only time in our history when we have experienced
major loss of jobs by our coworkers. We were stunned
by the news and have seen a variety of reactions across
the company. While some of us have expressed our concern
to our departing colleagues, others have not, very likely
due to not knowing what to say or how to say it. In
a workplace that fosters relationship building, we have
created a very special and unique culture at Rigby, so this
news has been extremely hard to accept.
There is no way we can fully understand the pain and frustration
of our departing co-workers because we are not "walking
in your shoes." We want you to know, however,
that we share your sense of loss, are sad that you will
be leaving, and care about you and your future. We
want you to know that everyone acknowledges and appreciates
what an important role you have played in Rigby's success
and in the life of the Rigby "family," and we
encourage individuals and departments throughout the company
to share their sentiments with you.
Many changes have occurred as Rigby grew over the years,
and we anticipated further change as the acquisition was
finalized last summer. We were not prepared, however,
to lose valued teammates. We know that those leaving
will take with them many happy memories of their time with
Rigby, and all of us sincerely hope for a bright future
ahead.
