MESSAGE TO RIGBY EMPLOYEES FROM STEVEN
KORTE:
Over the past several months since the Reed Elsevier acquisition
of Harcourt and the formation of Harcourt Supplemental Publishers,
many tasks facilitating integration have been initiated.
Simultaneously, our executives have been involved
in various stages of organizational thinking, planning,
and gaining familiarity with their respective areas. Newly
formed colleagues from Austin and Barrington have already
concluded the first of many future meetings that will be
valuable for our business decisions going forward.
In the commitment to continuing communication, over the
next four weeks each executive in your respective department
will have met with you as a group or individually to clarify
your department’s status in the integration process
and then will subsequently provide a company-wide update
with relevant information pertaining to each particular
area.
After this series of announcements and departmental meetings
are completed, I will then schedule March quarterly meetings
at our Barrington and Austin business locations. It
is the desire of our executive team to acknowledge your
concerns, to provide a forum for your questions, and to
communicate openly about our company’s future. We
sincerely appreciate your professionalism and business/customer
focus as this integration project progresses.
