As you are aware we have been in the midst of an office
space review because of our space needs and given that our
present lease is nearing its completion. We have used
the last four months to examine our future needs, visit
sites, and to discuss financial obligations with Reed Elsevier
executives and property managers.
I am pleased to announce that we will be relocating
our offices to 1000 Hart Road at the corner of Hart and
RT.14 / Northwest Highway in Barrington. We have
signed a 5 year lease with a very well-regarded property
management company, Hamilton Partners. We will occupy
the entire third floor of a three story building and have
taken 31,000 sq. ft. which represents a 65% expansion from
our current space. Our new building will include on-site
management and engineering staff, a deli/snack shop, and
a large exercise facility with fitness machines and equipment.
Most importantly, the Hart Road site is the nearest and
nicest available building that affords us the space that
we immediately require and will need in the foreseeable
future. Throughout this project we worked with a commercial
real executive to assist us with the site selection. Numerous
locations were visited and evaluated. A thorough review
of options available at our current site was also undertaken
but even though some space would become available shortly,
it would have not served our projected needs
Our targeted date for the move will be early March,
but until then we will remain in a bit of a crunch as new
colleagues join Rigby to assist us with our ambitious growth
plans. We will need to be creative and understanding
about space needs and solutions during this short period
of time. If you are in any way inconvenienced I'll
ask your patience during this time.
Reed Elsevier is counting on all of us to continue Rigby's
exceptional achievements in the years ahead.
